Common Camera and Video Resolutions

Analog /CVBS

These are limited to standard definition analog cameras and measured in TVL (TV Lines).

  • QCIF (176x120)
  • CIF (352x240)
  • D1(4CIF) (704x480)
  • 960H (960x480)

HD/ Digital

IP Cameras as well as some HD-Over-Coax Systems such as HD-AVS are capable of these resolutions. These will typically be using a much higher amount of bitrate compared to analog systems but will have a much better quality.

  • 0.9 Megapixel/ 720p (1280x720)
  • 1 Megapixel (1280x1024)
  • 1.3 megapixel (1280x1024)
  • 2 Megapixel (1600x1200)
  • 2.1 Megapixel/ 1080p (1920x1080)
  • 3 Megapixel (2048x1536)
  • 4 Megapixel (2592x1520)
  • 5 Megapixel (2592x1944)
  • 6 Megapixel (3008x2000)
  • 8 Megapixel 4K UHDTV (3840×2160)
  • 8 Megapixel 4K Digital Cinema (4096×2160)
  • 12 Megapixel(4290x2800)
