In this document, it goes over the functions of the various menus inside the ICRSS Pro Pie Update app for Android devices.

Initial Install

When the application is initially opened it will ask you to give permissions for the app to function correctly. Once the app is opened it will ask you to select your “Country or area”. After selecting the region it will ask you if you would like to use your phone’s cellular data to load access and display your cameras. If you do not allow the usage of your cellular data, then you cannot access your cameras when you are away unless it connects to Wi-Fi. To get to all menus, the menu list is in the top left corner with the 3 bars icon.

  • If you updated your phone from the previous ICRSS Pro App and had push notifications enabled you will need to subscribe to the push notifications again. On help to do this see push notifications section below.

Device Manager / Adding a Device

Device Manager

Device Manager is where you add or modify the devices added to your phone app. There are several ways to add a device to your phone app. The methods are P2P, icDDNS, IP/Domain.

  • When adding a new device you will get a prompt stating “Before adding device, please make sure your device is initialized, otherwise you cannot use it” this is just a warning/reminder to make sure your unit is already powered on and setup for remote access. Select OK to close the prompt.

Wi-Fi Device

Using this method will assist you with connecting to a device using P2P services.

  • Wi-Fi Config - Will bring up the camera to scan the QR code for P2P connection. Can be obtained from the box of the unit or directly in the units interface located under network settings. This will input the SN of the unit in for you however you will still have to name the device and enter the correct username and password for the unit.
  • Wi-Fi Config - Will bring up ‘Add Device’. Can be obtained from the box of the unit or directly in the units interface located under network settings. This will input the SN of the unit in for you however you will still have to name the device and enter the correct username and password for the unit.


Is used to add any of our devices with P2P, IP/Domain or ICDDNS.


Give this profile a name then either put the serial number of the unit inside “SN” field or select the QR icon box to take a picture of the QR code in the recorders P2P settings. Enter the username and password of the recorder then select Start Live Preview to bring the cameras up directly or press the save in the top right corner.

If the connection fails or timeout then verify your device (phone or tablet) has internet access. If you have internet access but still can’t connect check the P2P section under Network Settings of your Recorder. There will be a status indicator which will either say “Connected/Connect success” if it is connecting or offline/not connected if it is not communicating with the P2P server.

Some Networks don’t allow P2P connection so it may not connect in which case you will need to use IP/Domain for connection.


Give this profile a name then either put the local IP, external IP or DDNS. Then put in the TCP port along with the username and password of the recorder. Press the top right to save or select Start Live Preview to bring the cameras up directly.

IC Realtime provides a DDNS service in the device’s network settings. You can designate a custom DDNS address.

In order to connect to your device remotely using External IP Address or DDNS you will need to port forward the TCP port (Default 32789/37777) and for audio the UDP port (Default: 37778).

  • DDNS Fails to connect while on wifi - Some networks don’t have NAT loopback capabilities in which case it will fail to connect to the recorder using the DDNS address while on the local wifi. If this happens must add a second local device with the recorders local static IP address.

VTO Intercom Devices

Press the plus in the top right corner and select IP/Domain. Give this profile a name then either put the local IP, external IP or DDNS. Then put in the TCP port along with the username and password of the VTO. Select connect VTO then press the save in the top right.

Live View

Live Preview

Live View is for viewing camera feeds live. In order to bring up a camera, there are several ways.

Option 1: Click the + symbol in the window screen. A new window will come up. Select your device from the list. If the device isn’t added yet then the list will be empty or will only have our demo added. To add device select Add Device at the bottom of the window.

Option 2: Top right corner is a Camera icon. If selected will also bring up the Device List window. From here you can select a single camera or multiple cameras or an entire recorder. After selecting your devices select Start Live Preview at the bottom.

Option 3: Click on the favorites icon and select the group of cameras to load. To create a favorites group see favorites section


Top Row:

  • Views with Play Icon / Stop Button - Bring up previous videos / Closes all video feeds.
  • Microphone - Allows talking through a camera that has a speaker either built-in or attached.
  • Favorites - Brings up the favorites menu to create a new favorite group or to load a group.
  • Play/Pause - To start or stop the live feed of the selected camera.

Bottom Row:

The bottom row you can scroll left and right to reveal the buttons by swiping your finger across the bottom row left or right.

  • Views - Changes the number of cameras can be viewed on a single screen.
  • Screenshot - camera icon will perform a screenshot of the video feed selected.
  • Record - To record footage, select the recorder icon on the bottom right and select it again when done with the recording. The videos will be stored in local files.
  • Open/Close Encode settings - Opens the encode settings for the selected camera.
  • Audio - Allows audio to come through your device from the camera
  • Smart Track - Start or stop the smart track. The device must support this feature and already have it programmed.
  • Lock - Allows unlocking door strikes connected to outdoor stations.
  • PTZ Control - Allows to pan, tilt or zoom.
  • W/T - IP camera motorized zoom control. The camera must have a motorized lens.
  • Focus Control - IP camera motorized focus control. The camera must have a motorized lens.
  • Image Flip - Used to flip the image.
  • Realtime Playback - will allow you to bring back previous footage from 30 seconds ago while in live view.
  • Fisheye - used for 360/720 Fisheye cameras. Tap the icon then move your finger up to zoom in and down to zoom out. When zoomed in move left and right by dragging your finger left or right.
  • Display Settings - Used to adjust the image brightness, hue, contrast, etc.
  • Alarm - Turns alarms on and off
  • Definition - Used to control video feed fluency. Options are real-time video, fluent video, or auto.
  • Rain Wiper - Activates the rain wiper for the PTZ camera. Only available on select PTZ cameras.

Device List

In the top right is the device list; here you can select a recorder or by pressing the arrow on the right, select individual cameras, then press start live preview at the bottom.


If the view button is selected the multiple view split options will show. There is a 4 split, 9 split and 16 split to choose from. Double tap one box to get it into a full-screen mode.


Favorites Menu To get to the favorites menu select the 3 bars icon at the top left and select Favorites. To create a favorite group, select the folder icon in the top right and give it a name. Select the folder just created and press the star in the top right. Select all the recorders to put in the folder or press the arrow on the left and select the cameras individually, then save in the top right.

Live View Favorites icon is the star in the bottom right, tap the star and select the group you made under the favorites setting menu. You can also rename/delete the group through pressing the star and holding the group down or sliding the group to the left and selecting delete.

To add a camera to the favorites from the live view menu Select the camera that you want to add and then click on the Favorites icon. Select the group you want to add the camera to and it will be added.

PTZ Control

To move a PTZ camera through the app, go to the blue bar at the bottom and slide it to the left until you see the circle with arrows and tap it. Slide your finger in any direction to move the camera or pinch to zoom in and out. The magnifying glass will bring up a negative/plus sign that will also allow you to zoom in. The box with the plus inside will adjust the focus as well as the iris with the next icon. The flag icon will bring up the presets, tap the flag icon button and select the preset number, then tap the checkmark button to call.



Playback is for viewing the pre-recorded footage at hour increments through images or video.

Performing Playback

Click on the + symbol in the camera feed area and the settings will come up. Click on the start time field and the Calendar will come up to select the Date. After selecting the date you need to select OK and the time field will show up to select the time. Next step is to select the end time/stop time same procedure as Start Time. Next step is to Select Record Type. On Android, you have the option to Select ALL which will make it easier for pulling playback. If you know the recording mode either its Continuous/Regular 24 hour recording or Motion, then select the appropriate record mode otherwise leave it on ALL. Below that select your device and the camera you wish to view and it will start..

  • IMPORTANT: Can only pull playback from the same full day meaning 00:00 to 24:00. It will not pull playback from multiple days meaning January 1st 9PM/21:00 to January 2nd at 4AM/04:00. To pull that either pull 9PM/21:00 to 12PM/24:00. Or 12AM/00:00 to 4AM/04:00.


Top Row:

  • Rewind - The two arrows pointing to the left will play the video in reverse.
  • Play/Pause - the single arrow going to the right is the play button to start the playback and once it is activated it will turn into two lines that will pause the footage.
  • Fast/Slow Play - The two arrows going to the right will perform a faster playback and the play button with a slash through it will perform a slower playback.
  • Frame Play - The Play Arrow with a line is for a frame by frame playback. It will only advance a single frame for every click.

Bottom Row:

  • Screenshot - To perform the screenshot function, select the camera icon in the bottom left. It will store the images in local files.
  • Record - record footage, select the recorder icon on the bottom right and select it again when done with the recording. It will store the videos in local files.
  • Speaker - To enable audio playback if it has recorded audio with the footage.
  • Fisheye - used for 360/720 Fisheye cameras. Tap the icon then move your finger up to zoom in and down to zoom out. When zoomed in move left and right by dragging your finger left or right.
  • Cut Export - The scissors icon is used to open the Cut Export menu to set a start and stop time of the clip you wish to save. Please see Saving Playback.
  • Views Stop - The split view icon with an X closes all video feeds.

Snapshot Playback

This will allow you to view snapshots saved as long as the snapshot is set to record in the storage section of your recorder. Usually set with motion detection function or Alarm triggers.

To access snapshot playback on the playback menu at the top of the window select the photo icon to the right of the video feed icon.

Saving Playback

There are 2 methods to save playback. The first method is selecting the record button (second to the left) while the video is playing the other option is to use the Cut export mode by selecting the scissor icon.

Live Record

Step 1: Bring up the video feed desired to save.

Step 2: While the video is playing back select the Record button. A Red record icon will show in the top left of the video feed with a timer.

Step 3: When the desired video has elapsed select the record button again to stop recording and it will save to your local files.

Cut Export

Step 1: Bring up the video feed desired to save.

Step 2: Click Cut/Scissor icon to enter cut mode.

Step 3: Select the start time you want to cut a record from, click "Start" to mark the starting point.

Step 4: Drag progress bar, and select end time, click "End" to set the ending time of the video.

Step 5: Click OK to complete cutting and export.

Step 6: Click Cancel to cancel cutting and exit.

Local Files

Local Files

This menu is where all video feeds and snapshots that you have downloaded from playback or live view are stored.

In order to play the videos saved just simply click on the video and it will start playing. If it is a snapshot/screenshot it will bring up the image if selected.

Saving / Sharing / Deleting Clips or Images

The files are stored in the phone app and not in your phone's gallery. If you want to save the files to your phone's local gallery in order to move it to another device or to share it then select the edit button at the top right corner. It will put a gray overlay over all items. Select the items you wish to save to your phone or share (selected items will put a blue check mark). At the bottom of your phone, 3 buttons will become available.

The very left icon is the share icon. If you select that icon it will bring you your devices sharing options. Select your sharing platform and send.

The center button looks like a memory card icon is the save button to save the video or images to your local gallery/storage. Once selected it will begin to save it and provide progress.

  • Android - the files will be stored in Internal Storage -> snapshot and the files will be in subfolders of mp4/playback/video.

The icon on the right that looks like a trash can is the delete button. Selecting that will delete the footage from your phone.

Alarm Manager

Alarm Manager is used to enabling or disabling push notifications. Push notification tones will depend on your own phone settings.

  • Push Type - Set the push notification received. It can go to Live View, Video Clip or an Image.
  • IVS - Used to get notified when an IVS triggered for the desired camera(s). Select IVS and then select the IVS rule created and then select the camera channel
  • Fire Alarm - Used to get notified for fire alert on desired camera channel. The camera(s) must support the feature and have it set up.
  • Motion Detect - Used to get push notifications when motion detection events triggered. Motion detect must be enabled for the channels in the device(s) for it to work. For help on setting up see our Motion Detection page.
  • Cam Masking - Used to get push notifications when camera masking events are triggered. Camera masking must be enabled for the channels in the device(s) for it to work.
  • Local Alarm - Used to get push notifications when local alarm input is triggered. Local alarms must be enabled wired for the alarm channels in the device(s) for it to work.
  • HDD Alarm - Used to get push notifications when HDD alarm events are triggered. HDD events must be enabled under abnormality in the device for it to work.

Enabling Push Notifications

To Enable Push Notification, select Subscribe at the bottom. Your device list will show up on the next page. Select the device you want push notification for. On the next page, you will be on the Push Notification Setup page. Switch it on (will turn blue or green). Once you turn it on the rest of the push notification options will show up. Select the Push Type to specify if you want it to bring up the live feed of the camera or a 60-second clip or a still image*. Next select the event that will trigger the push notification: IVS, Motion Detection, etc. Once you select the type, it will take you to select the cameras for that notification. After selecting the channels you desire, press the back arrow at the top left to return to the Push Notification Setup page and select the check mark at the top right to save the settings. You will get a notification at the bottom of your screen saying “Subscribed successfully” if it registered successfully. If it did not register, it will say “Failed to subscribed”.

If it did not subscribe, it is due to a failure to communicate with your desired device. To make sure it can communicate try to bring up the cameras live view with the same device name. One way to accomplish this is to go to Device Manager select the device name from the list and select the pencil icon. Once on the device connection info page at the bottom, select Start Live Preview. Camera video feed should load up. If it doesn’t, then check your connection information. If it loads up just fine try to set up the push notifications again now that the connection was established.

* For a snapshot image on push notification to provide you with a still image the snapshot recording on the recorder must be set. Under Settings and Storage on there is a menu called Record. Snapshot recording must be enabled for those channels. Next, under Schedule, there is a tab for Snapshot and for that channel it will need to have the type of shot trigger selected IE: motion detect, IVS, etc. On the rule that is triggering the snapshot capture, the function for snapshot must be selected.
